Prior to setting up the Charles Hanson salon, Marcus was a Style Director and the Training Manager for Dangerfield & Keane where he worked since 2014.
Marcus is a keen and popular barber as well as an excellent ladies stylist. He has a Master Colour Expert qualification from Wella, and his eye for precision cutting and creative colouring have earned him a huge reputation with clients.

About Marcus
Hair has never just been a job for me, it’s a craft, and I’ve never found another job where I can create something so different and special using the same canvass. I never just wanted to be a hairdresser, I wanted to be an artist, and to be creating and delivering the vision of my clients and advising whenever some changes were needed.
It all started for me from a chair in the kitchen when I was just thirteen, in my family home, sat watching my mother doing an inverted bob freehand, that’s the moment I knew what I wanted to do with my life. To achieve this ambition I began an apprenticeship at the tender age of sixteen, and I started learning from stylists at the very top of their field, and who were always striving to improve.
My journey then took me to one of the top salons in Harrogate, where I continued developing my knowledge, skills and experience. I also attended the Wella Academy in Manchester and London where I undertook Barbering and Hair Styling courses, and then went on to complete a Master Colour Expert course from which I gained the highest colour qualification with Wella. I also successfully completed the TQUA Assessor Award, and I worked very closely for five years with an established independent training provider in Harrogate.
So, now I’ve taken the final step in my dream of so many years, and opened my own award winning hair salon in Harrogate, within a beautiful Victorian arcade in the heart of town, and I hope after reading this you too may become a valued client.
